The Ocean course at Vale Do Lobo is always a good day out , great layout , conditioning and makes you think off the tee with plenty of risk reward shots on offer. I walk with a motocaddy and find it better as you can go direct to your ball . We would really recommend playing and also special mention to the staff who are lovely

As always Laranjal delivers on quality, conditioning and playability. I rate it so highly because it has the flow of courses back home i.e no road crossing between holes. Hole 15 is a ball strikers dream and is so easy on the eye. Laranjal is always on our golf trip play list and I don’t ever see that changing 🏌️‍♂️

Our first time playing Ombria and it blew us away. A course built from scratch in the hills of the Algarve and looks to be getting better by the week as it matures. We have played the Quinta’s , Vale Do Lobos , Dom pedro’s and the discussion at dinner was Ombria is equal to the Old Course with some having it even better. Front nine is very strategic and picking the right landing spots is key , back nine opens more for driver with the 18th being a brilliant risk & reward hole. Some of tee shots are so high above the greens it’s even hard to believe they were able to built them there, The greens are tricky and 3 putts is not uncommon but that’s more down the golfer being too greedy, know your limitations. Brilliant welcome from every staff member we met and they very helpful to us, we are already talking about going back !

Day 1 of the 2025 was at Quinta South and it was top class as always unlike the golf played ! Course was in great condition and even though it’s a long course you will nearly always find your ball unless it’s in the drink , we walked it with motocaddys and found it easy enough to do. We had an early flight in so went direct from the airport to the clubhouse where we had lockers for our bags, showers and breakfast , a perfect start to the trip , Quinta South is a must play in the Algarve

VDL Royal is always an enjoyable round of golf, from the generous opening par 5 to some beautiful holes all the way till you get to the famous par 3 16th , don’t be short or left ! The royal will test you because some of the par 4’s need accuracy off the tee when taking driver , would I recommend playing the royal , yes I would 100%

North course is getting back to it’s very best , having played it at the end of May and found the conditions of the grass & bunkers to be very poor I wasn’t sure how it would be yesterday 03rd August , but they have recovered it excellently, it’s one of my favourite courses in the Algarve , not very long but greens can be tricky , it has the nicest opening tee shot of all the courses , I walked it for 07.36 tee time and it was already very warm , a good workout! Looking forward to playing it again

A great course in the Vale do lobo and Quinta do Lago region , I play it a couple of times per year , condition of the course is always at a high standard , it is a touch more friendly off the tee than the Royal , playing at 07.20 means a lot of workers on the course so flow of the round wasn’t there , maybe got unlucky that Wednesday is a big maintenance day , for the green fee price of the Ocean course it’s one not to be missed

Played twilight golf Wednesday 29/05/24 , had the course to ourselves( 7 golfers) , coffee and water on the first tee foc, bags taken from the bus and put on the electric trolleys for us , the best fairways and greens in Portugal, in far better condition than the 3 Quinta courses, they are in the process of redoing the buggy paths along with upgrading around the edges of fairways. A must play stunning golf course

Vale do lobo Ocean course never disappoints, for the price point it’s at compared to others in the local area it’s in far better shape condition wise , lots of memorable holes on the course and it’s always on our play list every year , clubhouse and food fantastic

Having played the 3 Quinta’s & 2 VDL courses along with San Lorenzo it’s Laranjal that tops the list as the best course for me. No house lined fairways and no crossing of roads makes it feel more like a parkland course, condition is always top and since they reversed the 9’s it’s a great finish with the risk/reward par 5 18th. Holes 14, 15, and 16 are as good as your will play anywhere and I recommend walking the course with an electric trolley to take it all in, looking forward to playing it again in 2025 !

The south course at Quinta definitely has a championship feel about it, one where you can open the shoulders and let fly. Always in top condition and yes the green fee is steep but when packaged together with Laranjal & North it works out ok and even cheaper when staying at the Magnolia Hotel( low & mid season) Holes 14/15/16/17 have some of the best tee box views that I have played , one to tick off the play list definitely and it’s also very walkable with an electric trolley

I have being playing the North regularly since 2018 and this is the poorest condition I have seen the course in , not enough sand in bunkers , bare patches on the fairways and below Quinta standard repairs around the edges of greens , I will be playing here again in the summer and presume the course will be back to its high quality best. Some lovely holes on the north and the greens will test the best putters and short gamers in the world ! It would be 3rd best out of the 3 Quinta courses but that’s still a very high bar set , definitely worth playing and don’t be short on approaches !
